Entering high school, Allyson and Kim are both perfectionists. Kim seeks to please everyone around her by overachieving in everything she can. Allyson is excited to get involved and meet new people...especially boys!
But for both girls, life does not go as smoothly as they planned. During her sophomore year Allyson finds herself in a life changing predicament and does not know what to do about it. Not long after, Allyson must cope with the sudden death of her father. During her junior year, the struggle to be perfect becomes overwhelming for Kim, and she must make the decision to drop an activity that could disappoint her father.
Sarah couldn't care less about getting involved in high school and is strongly against being a conformist. But a few years into high school, she becomes involved in art and is vice president for the National Arts Honors Society.
All three girls face challenges, changes and emerge from high school as very different individuals from who they were freshman year.
